This 1962 Laurent Giles design "Scythe" was built by Cardnell Brothers, Maylandsea, U.K. She is a true classic cruising yacht and has been very well cared for with no expense spared. Her inventory includes five berths, 34HP Yanmar engine, radar, GPS, teak decks, excellent set of sails and more!

A bit of history.
LLOYDS REGISTER TELLS US THAT IN 1962 LAURENT GILES DESIGN "SCYTHE" WAS BUILT BY CARDNELL BROTHERS, MAYLANDSEA, U.K. FOR A MR. COLEBROOK, USING MALDON AS PORT OF REGISTRY. DOVER WAS HER HOME PORT AND HER SAIL NUMBER WAS 804.
Construction
Teak on oak. Long keel (cast iron), with keel hung rudder.
Rig
Currently being sailed as a sloop (aluminium mast) as prior to 1969. Designed as a Yawl rig. Stainless steel rigging throughout (2000). Spinnaker pole on the mast. No mizzen mast available.

"Scythe" is in excellent condition. She has had regular maintenance and upgrading. She is of high quality and a very strong yacht.
Over the years "Scythe" has taken part in many Classic Regattas in the UK, Ireland and France as a yawl or sloop. She is a blue water cruiser that is easily managed and has been lovingly cared for by us.
