SEOIDIN, (pronounced “showdeen”, gaelic for “ Little Jewel” ) is a superb example of this modern day classic offered in an as new condition.
This extensively cruised example has wanted for nothing over her lifetime. Maintained to the highest standard, this head turner is arguably the finest example of this classic design afloat.
LOCATION : Rossbrin Boatyard, Schull, Co. Cork.
HISTORY
Brought new in to Schull ( West Cork ) in 1978. Originally named Samantha. Kept in Rossbrin (moorings and boatyard) by previous three owners who used her as a day sailer. Purchased by present owner in 2002 who has clocked up about 10,000 sea miles circumnavigating Ireland ( twice), and cruising West Coast of Scotland, South Wales, Bristol Channel, South Coast of England as far East as Isle of Wight, and Channel Islands.
In 2001/2 she was upgraded by Rossbrin Boatyard, hull painted, teak decks laid, mast, spars and hull timber and hatches varnished. New bunk cushions fitted. Swing keel bolt plate renewed.
In 2003 the original Yanmar 7 hp was replaced with a new Beta Marine 20 hp diesel engine. Installed by Ryan and Roberts Boatyard, Askeaton, the main Beta Marine agent in Ireland. Installation included new engine beds, propshaft, (Vetus Dripless), three bladed propeller and fuel tank.
In 2008 old anti-fouling removed and Gelcoat protection system applied by owner.
In 2010 while under cover in R&R boatyard mast and spars re-varnished.
In 2012 stern gland replaced by R & R Boatyard.
In 2013 Tube stack cleaned and cooling system serviced.
In 2015 boat was surveyed for insurance purposes and got a clean bill of health.
In winter of 2016/2017 owner and Rossbrin Boatyard painted hull, re-varnished all timber ( 8 coats) and mast/spars (3 coats), repainted main and fore cabins. Water pump serviced.

OWNERS COMMENTS
Seoidin has been cruised extensively since 2002 and regularly upgraded and maintained by me, much of the work being done by professional boatyards, see under HISTORY heading. As I am keen to cruise further afield before retiring from the sea I am looking for a larger long-keeled boat which unfortunately means passing Seoidin on to a new owner.
